An interactive learning tool for supporting student learning in power engineering is shown to improve analytical skills of students. Technology were observed throughout the projectĬontribution: Interactive learning tools with multiple learning support functionalities are nonexistent in power engineering education. Participating in the virtual exchange and advantages and pitfalls of using this Furthermore, WebRTC earned a high acceptance among students Showed significant results in terms of emotional, behavioral and cognitive engagement. An additional survey analyzing students’ perceptions was also given to students at the end of the project. A mixed methods approach was used and students’ engagement was measured through the use of a log, a pre-existing knowledge survey and an engagement scale. Task design consisted of information exchange and information gap activities that were given to students in order toįoster the interaction. The study involved 32 participants from two different universities who participated in a tele-tandem exchange over a period of 4 months. Plugins installation, scalability and accessibility. WebRTC is an open source technology that simplifies the telecommunication process thanks to its inherent characteristics such as P2P connectivity, no WebRTC (Web Real-time Communication) protocol and Peer-to-Peer (P2P)Ĭommunication to develop a virtual exchange in a second language environment. The present research investigates students’ degree of engagementĪnd perceptions in a telecollaboration project which incorporates the use of the
